Tomato-Corn-Asparagus Salad

On hot summer days, the last thing you want to eat is something warm and heavy. This salad is refreshing and a great combination of the vegetables that are in season. Tastes great with or without the cheese.

Hiccup List

I have learned a few things along the way...as I am sure this list will continue to grow as I make mistakes. However, I view these mistakes as constructive failures or hiccups.

1. Always allot for additional time than expected. Especially when "allow to cool" is in the recipe description", as rushing the cooling time results in a crumbly mess.

2. Parents and grandparents are helpful when it comes to life decisions (CALL in baking and cooking emergencies).

3. Always allow for butter, eggs, or milk (whichever ingredient it calls for) to be at room temperature (I usually cheat and try to microwave it... not a good idea)

4. The nearby Stewart's Shop and gas station carry last minute/forgotten ingredients... for the most part. Helpful hint... save yourself from a mid-recipe panic and make a list before shopping to begin with.

5. ALWAYS test a recipe before bringing it to a dinner party, brunch, or any social gathering for that matter.
